Public Service Box: what the Stellantis portal offers and who can use it

Public Service Box, the Stellantis portal for independents

Service Box is the documentation system of the Stellantis dealer network, and the public version opens it to repairers outside that network. The login page lists Peugeot, Citroën, DS, Opel and Vauxhall, and Chevrolet in Europe, and names its content as the parts catalog, technical documentation, wiring diagrams, diagnostic information and repair methods.

The portal exists because EU law requires it. Regulation (EU) 2018/858 obliges carmakers to give independent operators access to repair and maintenance information and lets them charge reasonable and proportionate fees. Access has to be offered by the hour, day, month and year, with the fee following the period. The fees may not discourage access by ignoring how much an independent uses the information, so the rules give a workshop that sees one Peugeot a month the option of a day rather than a year.

Who can register for public Service Box

The terms of use, in their July 2025 version, define a user as a professional. That means an independent operator in the sense of the EU regulation, a roadworthiness testing center, a rescue service, or another professional such as a fleet operator. The terms state that consumers are excluded.

Registration asks for your company, your address and your intra-community VAT number, plus a SIRET number for French businesses. Stellantis changed the process under Regulation (EU) 2021/1244, which requires every independent repairer to be identified as a motor trade professional. Existing accounts had to confirm their company data through the legal representative, and one login now opens both public Service Box and the Stellantis Technical Information portal.

Free with registration: the parts catalog

A registered account gets a set of free services with no subscription. The help pages list the spare parts and accessories catalogs, products for professionals, a catalog of standard bolts, nuts and connectors, vehicle documentation and the location of the diagnostic socket.

The parts catalog filters by product line or by chassis number, so a VIN takes you to the parts of that build. You can fill a basket and send the order, as long as your account is linked to an official Peugeot parts distributor. The order goes to that distributor, and you pay them directly.

Technical information for repair sits behind a paywall. The terms name special tooling for certain jobs, the data for calculating labor times and the electrical wiring diagrams among the paid content, and each purchase is tied to one brand.

ECU work has its own product. A single license, bought for one car identified by its VIN, unlocks the diagnostic and repair software and the diagnostic procedures for that vehicle. The terms also cover training material and a technical support service for workshops that get stuck while using the information.

The part a car owner can use

The owner handbooks are the open part. The Peugeot handbook archive on the same domain loads without an account, and you pick the edition by the date of the car’s first registration. Citroën, DS and Opel have their own archives, linked from the login page. A handbook covers the controls, the warning lights and the fuse tables for its edition, which answers a good share of owner questions without a login.

Everything else on the portal sits behind a business account. An owner who wants to check a part number for a Peugeot needs another route to the catalog.

Public Service Box or Service Box on VINsearch

VINsearch opens the Service Box parts catalog for Peugeot, Citroën and DS in the browser, without a VAT number or a trade account, from a $5 Day Pass. You get parts by VIN, exploded diagrams, part numbers and supersessions, with the rest of the 54 catalogs on the same login. See Service Box on VINsearch and our guide to how Service Box works.

VINsearch covers the parts side only. For wiring diagrams, repair methods and diagnostic software, a subscription on public Service Box is the official route, and our post on wiring diagrams by VIN explains why a parts catalog does not carry them.

Frequently asked questions

Is public Service Box free?

Registration and the parts catalog are free. Technical documentation for repair, wiring diagrams and diagnostic licenses are paid, either for a period of time or for a single vehicle.

Can a private owner use public Service Box?

The terms of use limit accounts to professionals and exclude consumers. Owners can read the handbooks, which open without an account.

Can I order parts through public Service Box?

Yes, once your account is linked to an official Peugeot parts distributor. The order goes to that distributor, and you pay them directly.

What do I need to register?

Your company details and your intra-community VAT number. French businesses also give a SIRET number.
