What we do
The right repair starts with the right part. But identifying genuine OEM components across dozens of brands traditionally meant a shelf of dealer tools, per-brand logins, and desktop software locked to one PC. VINsearch replaces all of that with a single browser-based platform.
From a VIN, VINsearch resolves any vehicle to its exact factory build and surfaces the genuine part number — with exploded diagrams, quantities, and live supersession chains — drawn from the manufacturers' own EPC data.

How we work
VINsearch is an independent access platform. EPC data and trademarks belong to their respective manufacturers; we make that data usable online, worldwide, under one flat subscription with no per-search fees.

How we source and verify catalog data
Every part number, diagram and supersession on the platform comes from the manufacturers' own Electronic Parts Catalog systems, such as ETKA for the Volkswagen Group, ETK for BMW, Microcat for Ford, and Mobis for Hyundai, Kia and Genesis. We do not retype, scrape or reconstruct catalog data, because a copied catalog drifts out of date and can introduce errors. Reading the official source is the only way to keep new-model VINs resolving and supersession chains current.
Vehicle identification follows the international VIN standard (ISO 3779). When you enter a VIN, it is validated, including the check digit, and resolved to the exact factory build before any parts are shown, so the diagram you open lists only the components that fit that specific car.

Our guides and comparisons are written and reviewed by the VINsearch parts desk, specialists in EPC catalogs and VIN-based identification. We make claims we can stand behind: comparisons against other platforms are based on what each tool actually does, with real brand counts, and we say plainly when a competitor is the better choice. We do not invent authors, reviews or statistics. Where a fact rests on an external standard or authority, we cite it.
