How to look up Infiniti parts by VIN
The routine is the same for a Q50 as for a QX80.

Nissan numbers, shared where the hardware is
Infiniti parts use Nissan’s layout, two blocks of five characters. The first block names the kind of part across both brands: 98510 is a driver’s airbag module in a Rogue and in a QX50 alike. The second block ties the part to an application.
Where the hardware is common, so is the number. When a supplier fault hit front calipers early in 2025, one pair of numbers covered the QX60, the Pathfinder and the Murano. The driver’s airbag recalled in 2024 shows the other case: the QX60 took 98510-6SA0B and the Pathfinder 98510-6TA2A. Two cars that share brakes can still differ at the steering wheel.
The 2013 renaming, and a QX50 that changed
In 2013 Infiniti moved to Q names for cars and QX names for SUVs. The G37 became the Q40 or Q60, the M became the Q70, the FX the QX70, the EX the QX50, the JX the QX60 and the QX56 the QX80. Paperwork from either side of the change names the same car differently.
The QX50 is the one to watch. Until 2017 it was the renamed EX, a V6 on Nissan’s FM platform. The QX50 sold from the 2019 model year is a different car, built in Aguascalientes, Mexico, around a 2.0 turbo four, the KR20DDET, with Nissan’s variable compression system. They share the name and little else, and only the VIN tells a counter which one is outside.

Infiniti withdrew from Western Europe in 2019 and 2020 and from Australia and New Zealand in 2019, and the Q30 made at Sunderland in the UK ended in mid-2019. The cars stayed on the road.
