Reading a PSA part number
PSA numbers are usually written in groups, like 16 XXX XXX 80, and the same number appears without spaces on invoices and packaging. Both forms are the same part, so a search that fails with spaces is worth retrying without them.
Most long PSA references end in 80, and PSA publishes no key to the digits, so the number tells you little on its own. Two references that look almost identical can be a current part and one the factory has already replaced, so read the supersession in the catalog before you order.
Equipment variation on one body
PSA offered a lot of equipment variation on the same body, especially in cooling, braking and interior trim. Two Citroëns registered in the same month can want different radiators because one left the factory with air conditioning and the other did not.
