Mopar numbering
A current Mopar number is eight digits followed by two letters — 68259752AB — where the letters are the revision level, stepping AA, AB, AC as the part is updated. A number quoted from an old invoice may have been superseded. Read the replacement chain to its end.
Older Dodge parts appear under earlier formats from the group's previous systems; the catalog maps them forward, which is exactly the function an installed copy loses when its updates stop.
Two very different ranges
Charger and Challenger are performance cars whose brake, cooling, suspension and driveline parts split sharply by engine and package — an SRT car shares little with a base V6 through those groups. Durango has towing and drivetrain variables of its own.
The Grand Caravan and its relatives sit in a third category again, with sliding-door, seating and body hardware that appears nowhere else in the range. The model name is not enough. Open the vehicle record by VIN and check configuration and part application.
