Read the diagram and list together

Start with the vehicle record rather than searching a name across the whole catalog. Choose the main group, then the assembly. Use the drawing to locate the component and the list to identify the original number.

Do not stop at a familiar-looking picture. Similar components can have several rows for different equipment or build dates. Read the conditions beside the selected row and compare them with the vehicle.

Check the details that change an order

Keep the full suffix, color or finish information where the catalog specifies it. Confirm quantity rather than copying it blindly: a catalog can list an assembly quantity even when your repair replaces only one component.

Follow the replacement chain and read any accompanying notes. The newer number may require another part or apply only under specified conditions. A code on an old box is useful for comparison, but it should not replace the current application check.

Finish with a supplier inquiry

Send the complete number, required quantity and relevant notes to the supplier. Ask about availability and delivery separately. If you need fitting procedures, tightening values or one-time-use rules, consult the applicable repair documentation before starting work.

2. Confirm the vehicle

   Select it by VIN when supported and verify the returned record. For manual selection, check model, engine, gearbox and market.

3. Navigate to the assembly

   Open the relevant group and locate the component on the diagram.

4. Read the parts-list row

   Check the complete OEM number, quantity, equipment codes and production notes.

5. Follow replacements and request the part

   Review the current reference and its conditions, then ask the supplier about price and delivery.
