BYD parts by VIN: export names, Blade batteries and a floor that is a battery
Reading a BYD VIN
BYD VINs start with LC0 or LGX. Both are BYD Auto manufacturer codes, and BYD uses them on Denza and Fangchengbao vehicles as well, two brands inside the BYD group.
The rest of the VIN carries the build, and with BYD that includes the powertrain family. The Seal U comes as a battery-electric car and as a DM-i plug-in hybrid, and the two versions share a body while taking different parts under it.
Blade batteries and e-Platform 3.0
BYD’s Blade battery uses lithium iron phosphate cells, with no nickel or cobalt. BYD’s e-Platform 3.0 carries its current electric models, among them the Dolphin, the Atto 3 and the Seal, and supports both 400-volt and 800-volt electrics.
For parts, the platform matters more than the badge. Motors, inverters and battery hardware follow the platform, and in the BYD catalog you find them in their own assembly groups, apart from the bodywork.
On the Seal, the battery is the floor
BYD builds the Seal with cell-to-body construction. The top of the battery pack forms the floor of the cabin, and the pack adds to the strength of the body.
Plan body and interior work with that in mind. Anything that touches the floor touches the battery structure, so check the catalog and BYD’s repair information before you quote a job in that area.
Where BYDs come from now
BYD opened its first wholly owned plant outside China in Rayong, Thailand, in July 2024. It took over a former Ford site in Camaçari, Brazil, which opened as a BYD plant in 2025, and it began trial production at a plant in Szeged, Hungary, in early 2026.
Carmakers often buy some parts from local suppliers for a new plant and fit equipment for the market it serves. The VIN records the plant for each car, so start there.
The first BYD designed for Europe
In May 2026 BYD unveiled the Dolphin G DM-i, a plug-in hybrid supermini that BYD describes as its first car developed for the European market. BYD plans to start the Szeged plant with the Dolphin Surf.
A new model reaches the catalog with young parts data, and running changes in the first years are normal. Check each number for a supersession before you order, and compare the build date on the VIN decode with any note in the catalog entry.
BYD parts on VINsearch
VINsearch opens the BYD catalog in the browser, including the high-voltage system and the battery and inverter assembly groups. You decode the VIN, open the group and read the genuine number. Denza and Fangchengbao are not available.

Frequently asked questions
Is the BYD Atto 3 the same car as the Yuan Plus?
Yes. BYD sells it as the Yuan Plus in China and as the Atto 3 in export markets. Look it up by VIN so you reach the build, whatever the badge says.
What does LC0 mean at the start of a VIN?
LC0 is a BYD Auto manufacturer code. BYD uses it, together with LGX, on its own cars and on Denza and Fangchengbao vehicles.
What is cell-to-body?
BYD’s construction on the Seal, where the top of the battery pack forms the cabin floor and the pack adds to the strength of the body.
Can I look up BYD high-voltage parts by VIN?
Yes. The BYD catalog on VINsearch includes the high-voltage system and the battery and inverter assembly groups.
