Toyota Land Cruiser parts by VIN: Prado, 70, 250 and 300 series

Why does “Land Cruiser” cover several different vehicles?

Toyota’s 2024 Land Cruiser documentation describes three parallel lines: the Heavy Duty 70-series, the Station Wagon represented by the 300-series, and the Light Duty line that includes the 250-series. It also explains that the Light Duty range is known as Prado in some regions. These vehicles cannot be reduced to one parts application.

Before pricing a component, select the vehicle in the Toyota EPC catalog and record the returned model or frame designation. Ask what the supplier means when an advertisement says “Land Cruiser Prado.” A commercial name is useful for finding the right family, but the selected vehicle record needs to establish the specific assembly.

Watch the Toyota EPC interface recording. The recording shows the catalog interface. Confirm the vehicle and part application for your own job.

Should you enter a VIN or a frame number?

Use the identifier and format requested by the relevant Toyota dataset. For a vehicle with a conventional VIN, copy it from the vehicle and check it against the paperwork. If the catalog expects a frame identifier, retain its prefix and sequence as required. Do not pad a shorter identifier into a guessed VIN.

Read the returned model, engine, body and production details before opening a diagram. If the identifier is unrecognised, check the active catalog market and coverage. An imported vehicle may require different data from the version familiar locally. Toyota EPC by VIN explains the distinction between basic decoding and selecting a supported Toyota vehicle record.

What makes the 250-series a useful generation check?

Toyota’s 2024 UK launch material identifies the 250-series with a GA-F body-on-frame platform, electric power steering and a 2.8-litre diesel paired with an eight-speed automatic. These are useful generation markers, with specifications qualified to that launch market. They do not establish the reference for every Land Cruiser worldwide.

For a steering or transmission-related request, confirm the actual vehicle configuration and production conditions. A component advertised broadly for “2.8 Land Cruiser” may leave the generation unresolved. Search the selected assembly and compare the exact reference. If a seller says two generations share the component, ask for an application-supported cross-reference before approving it.

Which market should an imported Land Cruiser use?

The vehicle retains its original build specification when it is imported. Select the appropriate catalog data from the vehicle identity instead of assuming that its present registration country defines the parts. Keep steering side and engine information with the request, especially when the supplier normally works with a different regional version.

For a lamp, cooling component or body item, read the remaining market and equipment notes in the selected record. The local trim name may not exist in the original market. Ask for the actual identifier or reference rather than translating that trim into the closest-sounding local grade. Our imported-vehicle parts article covers the wider handover problem.

How do modifications change the catalog check?

A Land Cruiser may have replacement suspension, an accessory bumper, added electrical equipment or a changed axle assembly. Record what is fitted before using the factory list to approve a replacement. For an accessory with its own maker’s label, identify the accessory through that source; Toyota EPC describes the original Toyota application.

If an altered component connects to factory hardware, split the parts request. Identify the original mounts or adjacent Toyota pieces in EPC, then check the altered component through its maker or documented conversion record. Keep photographs and labels together. A factory spring reference cannot establish the replacement for an aftermarket suspension package merely because both fit the same vehicle family.

What should the supplier receive for a firm quote?

Send the full VIN or accepted frame identifier, returned model designation, original market and engine information. Add the assembly, callout, complete OEM reference and quantity. Retain any production restriction or replacement note. For a modified vehicle, name the installed equipment and state which part of the request belongs to it.

VINsearch opens Toyota EPC in a browser for this identification process. Check that the relevant series and market are covered. Where the record or replacement relationship remains unclear, ask the genuine-parts channel to confirm it. Do that before accepting a near-matching reference from another Land Cruiser line.

Frequently asked questions

Are Land Cruiser and Prado the same parts application?

Prado is used for Toyota’s Light Duty Land Cruiser line in some regions. Land Cruiser also covers other lines, so confirm the specific series and vehicle record.

Can Toyota Land Cruiser parts be found with a frame number?

Use a frame identifier when the relevant Toyota catalog supports and requests it. Preserve the required prefix and sequence, then verify the returned vehicle.

Will a 300-series part fit a 250-series Land Cruiser?

The series are distinct. Confirm any claimed shared part through the complete applicable OEM reference and conditions for both vehicle records.
